Patient Referral Process

  • Step 1: Referral received

    Once a referral is received our patient intake team will take over, explaining the process and answering any additional questions.

  • Step 2: Benefits Investigation

    Insurance benefits are checked and reviewed with the patient.

  • Step 3: Consultation

    Your patient will meet with the TMS psychiatrist to discuss treatment in detail. If prior authorization is required, Serena TMS staff will obtain it.

  • Step 4: Treatment begins

    Patients will receive approximately 19 minutes of TMS Therapy treatments, Monday through Friday, for 6 weeks. Tapering to follow.

  • Step 5: Results Reviewed

    Treatment efficacy is reviewed with the patient by the TMS psychiatrist. Clinical documentation will be sent via progress report to referring provider (if the patient consents).

  • Step 6: Follow up with Referring Provider

    Patients are advised to follow up with their referring provider and therapist.
